GIS-Based Situational Analysis of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Disease (CLD) in Sri Lanka

Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL) is a severe health problem and parasitic disease on human dermal widely pervades tropical subtropical developing counties. The study mainly focused Geographic Information System (GIS) based Situational Analysis (SA). clinically recorded 394 CL patients’ information was obtained from the District General Hospital of Polonnaruwa (DGHP) for 2017 2018. spatial distribution these patients collected using Global Positing (GPS). Moran’s I Index autocorrelation technique Getis-Ord Gi were used to identify site’s hot spot cold areas. More than 75% population highly involved with agricultural activities, they are exposed group in area. Also, men, vulnerable age 35 - 39 men 40 44 women. generated indicates 0.0321, representing randomly distributed pattern over District, Z Score value >1.96 (p Hence prevent spread, it essential implement an awareness program regarding sandflies’ behaviour CLD.
